Bill Cosby is in trouble; will remain in prison!
Actor and comedian Bill Cosby’s problems are not nearing an end. The Ghost Dad actor will remain in prison for sexual assault after the Pennsylvania Superior Court affirmed his conviction for three counts of aggravated indecent assault. He is currently serving a sentence of three to 10 years for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004.
Bill Cosby was sentenced in September 2018
The actor was found guilty by a jury in April last year and was sentenced five months later. It was during the trial Constand disclosed that at one time, Cosby was a mentor to her, but became a sexual predator later. Constand, who was working for the women’s basketball team at Temple University, testified that the entertainer gave her drugs before assaulting her.
As many as five women came forward to testify against the actor
Constand isn’t the only person to accuse Bill Cosby; more than 60 women accused him of sexual misconduct. The court heard five witnesses during the trial who said that Cosby drugged and assaulted them. The actor sought to overturn his conviction and prison sentence on a number of legal points, asking the Superior Court for a review.
Superior Court backed the lower court’s decision
The Superior Court rejected Cosby’s assertions, laying out it’s reasoning in a 94-page opinion that backed the lower court’s handling of the case. The 82-year-old actor has worked in countless films and TV shows including the successful I Spy, The Cosby Show as well as Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids.
