Lucifer’s Final Season To Get Even Bigger With Dennis Haysbert!

When Netflix revived Lucifer they didn’t know that it was going to get even bigger than they imagined. For the series’ final season, they had to bring in Lucifer’s dad and thanks to DB Woodhouse, they nailed the casting in style. Yes, 24 alum Dennis Haysbert will be playing Lucifer’s dad aka God and will be reuniting with his 24 co-stars DB Woodhouse after a long time.

It would have been great had Morgan Freeman who played God in films been cast, but Dennis Haysbert is the next best thing. The story goes that while the creators of the show were looking for someone to play God, DB Woodhouse asked them what they thought of Dennis Haysbert. The first reaction of the showrunners was ‘do you think he’d actually do it?’ And when DB Woodhouse told them that he would, they had their God.

The reason why Dennis Haysbert agreed to play God was because of the opportunity with his on-screen brother from 24.

“Every time I see D.B., there’s always this fondness and this connection…We worked on a show that was arguably one of the best shows ever produced in television, so you’re going to have a kind of camaraderie,” Haysbert said when he was asked about becoming part of Lucifer. “I don’t know how I went from brothers to father. We’re celestial. We can do that.”

Lucifer’s fourth season ended with him returning to Hell, despite Chloe telling him that she loves him. Whatever turn the story takes in the final season, one thing is clear, it is going to be one of the best series finales in Netflix’s history.
