PTV Is Bringing Back The Classic Urdu Drama ‘Angar Wadi’ To Our TV Screens!
Angar Wadi first debuted on PTV in the year 1994!
The national state-run channel Pakistan Television (PTV) is bringing back its old classic drama ‘Angar Wadi’ to show solidarity with Kashmiris and it will air the whole drama once again on its channel.
Written and produced by our legendary late writer, actor, and filmmaker Abdul Rauf Khalid, the drama consists of 18 episodes that are very much interesting and thrilling to watch as it was last aired in the year 1994.
The story of the drama highlights the cause of Kashmir and it gives the tribute to the unsung heroes who fought for the freedom of Kashmir and gave their lives without a doubt for their people and stand firm in front of the oppressors. The story of the martyrs that will always be remembered in the fight for freedom of Kashmir.
It all started when Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Rubina Khalid gave a green signal to the state-run channel to re-broadcast one of the classics of 1994 in support of Kashmiris.
Not only that Senator Rubina Khalid is the wife of the writer, actor, and filmmaker Abdul Rauf Khalid and she stated that she wants the drama to on-air one again to show the current youth about the struggles and importance of Kashmir cause and how the life of the people is in shackles in the disputed territory.
She further said:
“I have allowed PTV to re-telecast it without demanding any share in the revenue it’ll generate. He strongly believed that if Pakistan had to defeat terrorists and terrorism, it will have to promote the arts and culture among the youth to boost diversity and creativity.”
Abdul Rauf Khalid died on 24 November 2011 in a tragic accident near Sheikhupura and he is survived by his wife and their three children.
