Surkh Chandni Episode 9 ARY Digital – Review
Surkh Chandni Episode 9 has everything, sharp turns, coincidences, hope for some, despair for others. Awareness through art – the right way to do it!
Surkh Chandni Episode 9 begins with Amaan (Osman Khalid Butt) who gets back home and realizes Ayda (Sohai Ali Abro) has left through a letter. She accidentally (pun intended) reaches Rehana’s shelter home while Safina (Huma Nawab) tells Amaan to not lose hope. As the episode progresses further, Jawad’s (Asad Siddiqui) father dies. Humera (Gul-e-Rana) seems sad over the sudden death of her husband while Jawad has his eyes glued on his father’s wealth so he can finally marry Shumaila (Mansha Pasha). There is a condition – she will marry Jawad only after Mukhtar (Hassan Ahmed) names his property after her. Shumaila, in the episode, pressurizes her husband to do so as quickly as possible.
Coincidences need to be handled nicely, and the makers managed well. When Ayda meets an accident with Rehana’s car, what mattered was how they carried the coincidence and later the plot takes a turn. What seems even interesting is: the overlapping subplots have progressed. But adding too many stories might blow up the whole scene. And yes, the make-up crew should level up now, as, in one scene, Sohai’s face had more burns within the blink of an eye, they are all gone. Kudos to the background score department though.
Mansha Pasha nails the whole episode. Osman Khalid Butt has adopted a good transition. Huma Nawab portrays a character of a strong mother who has her eyes on almost everything and still carries on. Gul-e-Rana’s shots were nicely done. Sohai’s bechari abla nari tag might change in the forthcoming episodes. Overall, Surkh Chandni has turned a sharp turn, and all for good. But will they be able to carry their form? Only time could tell.
